Disc golf baskets share the same purpose a hole in traditional golf would. It serves as a target point for a Frisbee to hit so that the score can be kept. Score is kept by the number of throws it takes to make it to the targeted basket.

Disc golf baskets can be portable or stationary. For those who want to practice anywhere and be able to have their own gear, a collapsible target is recommended, as it can be transported easily. Stationary targets are generally found on courses and in parks for people to play and practice on.

Disc golf baskets are generally affordable. The price for a target can range, but typically it will stay around the price range of a hundred dollars. However, if a public course is used it may be free. This is a sport that can be played by all, and can serve as a source of family entertainment year after year.
